The Spanish Pickleball Association – Pickleball Spain is a non-profit association, founded in 2012, that acts as the governing body of this sport in Spain. The Association is officially registered with the Ministry of the Interior, with the main objective is to introduce, promote and support the growth of the sport of Pickleball in Spain and the rest of Europe, targeting people of all ages and conditions, as well as the promotion of the Pickleball as an inclusive sport, with the help of the Alas Madrid Foundation. The Spanish Pickleball Association – Pickleball Spain contributes to the internationalization of the sport throughout Europe, collaborating with international organizations and institutions, among which are the European Pickleball Federation – EPF, the International Pickleball Federation – IPF and the World Pickleball Federation – WPF .

The International Coaches Institute – ICI established during 2021, in the United States, a division called United States Registry of Pickleball Professionals dedicated to professional training, international certification and comprehensive professional services for PICKLEBALL teaching professionals, as well as the promotion of this sport. During the year 2023, the ICI began to offer the same programs and services in Europe through the European Registry of Pickleball Professionals, and in Spain through the Registro Profesional de Pickleball – RPPk.

Pickleball Spain and the RPPk formalized a collaboration agreement to carry out joint activities for the development and promotion of PICKLEBALL, in the coaching training and certification and in the development of activities and competitions within the Spanish national territory, as well as in promoting inclusive sport. As a result of this collaboration, it was agreed that the training programs, certification, degrees and professional services of the Registro Profesional de Pickleball – RPPk are endorsed and recognized by the Spanish Pickleball Association – Pickleball Spain.

The Royal Spanish Tennis Federation – RFET approved in its General Assembly during the year 2023 the incorporation of the PICKLEBALL racket modality in its social statutes, subsequently endorsed by the Sports Council, creating in this regard a National Pickleball Committee within the organizational chart of the RFET, hereinafter RFET / PICKLEBALL. This new Committee has incorporated several people from the Board of Directors of the Spanish Pickleball Association – Pickleball Spain and its objective is the development of PICKLEBALL in Spain starting in October 2023. The Committee is made up of: Mr. Roberto Pérez Gómez, Mr. Marc Jacques Declerck de la Fuente, Mr. Gabriel Cuadros Catalán, Ms. Giulia Garbagna, Mr. Yasin Mohamed Harrus and Mr. Miguel Margets Lobato.

Mr. Roberto  Pérez, President of RFET / PICKLEBALL and Mr. Luis Mediero, President of the RPPk, have held meetings to continue the collaboration agreement to carry out joint activities for the development and promotion of PICKLEBALL for all ages, in the coaching training and certification and in the development of activities and competitions within the Spanish national territory, as well as the promotion of inclusive sport.

As a result of this agreement, it has been established that the training programs, certification and qualifications and professional services of the Registro Profesional de Pickleball – RPPk are endorsed and recognized by the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation – RFET / PICKLEBALL.
